This year just started and immediately i got to tick one destination off my bucket list. I’ve been wanting to go to this beautiful place ever since i saw it in the internet! It’s absolutely adorable in person and i just couldn’t believe I was able to go there.
This is one of Japan’s UNESCO World Heritage sites. They are also one of the few places in Japan that has Gassho Style Houses.
So you can say these types of houses are pretty rare in Japan.
For this trip we also got to visit Takayama. It’s one of the places we stopped en route to Shirakawago. It was like Gion in Kyoto. You could also get cool souvenirs around the area and try good food.
Food you should try during the trip?
Like Kobe, this region has its own specialty meat and it’s Hida Beef. This meat is absolutely to die for. If possible try and eat it as a meal and not just a Yakitori on the streets. Food is truly worth it.
The ice cream was very delicious, it has a sticky and creamy feel to it. It doesn’t melt because of the cold weather. However only photo I got of the ice cream was me already devouring it.
